Tasteful and elegant.

Recently reopened and rebranded as Pullman, this Ambassador Hotel has been around for a while — and the expertise shows. Staff is attentive in the best way possible, never pushy but always quick to help. They reminded us of the great 5* star hotels of the olden days that are getting more and more difficult to find. While the rooms have gotten a *very* stylish makeover, quality materials and appliances have been used all over. Thanks to great maintenance, neither of our two rooms have shown any sign of wear. We’ve stayed in our fair share of luxury hotels in Seoul, including the higher end sister property (Sofitel in Songpa-gu), this Pullman hotel easily wins in overall ambiance. Even zooming out — I’d be hard pressed to name a better affordable 5* that’s impressed me the same way. We’ll be back for sure.

The rooms are unpleasantly warm in winter, no matter whether the central air conditioning is on or off. That’s in line with local taste; just hard to adjust to coming from Europe. I’d also argue that while reasonably central and calm, the location at the foot of Namsan is slightly inconvenient if you need to get to different parts of the city.

visit was extremely good, facilities are super clean and useful, staff is extremely helpful and not to mention the quality of the breakfast. It was included in the offer and the food was simply exquisit!

Comfort and great location!

Excellent location, right next to a nice neighbourhood with bars/restaurants, Myeong-dong (shopping) and several metros. Rooms itself were nice, with a comfy bed, while the breakfast buffet is very good.

Paying extra for services like the pool was a bit peculiar to me (30.000 won per person) given the actual price of the hotel. In addition, staff were not always super helpful, although that is probably also the language barrier.

Best hotel of our two week trip with four centres.

Overall our stay here was very good and would visit again. Staff were excellent and room very comfortable

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It's a cozy and comfortable location where you can completely immerse yourself in tran

The location is excellent. While it's a bit farther from downtown, it's still very convenient, taking only 20-30 minutes by subway or bus. It's a cozy spot for relaxation, and you can also enjoy a leisurely stroll to Namsan.

The room is wonderful, but there is room for improvement in terms of cleanliness; there is still visible dust in the closet. During my four-night stay, I noticed that the breakfast remained the same each day.

An impressive renovation from what it was before. It is well operated and staff is friendly. The Pullman standard shows

Very clean and comfortable. We stayed on an executive club floor, the reception was exceptional. The view from the 18th floor club lounge is great. The restaurant has a very good buffet; it is not cheap but it’s glorious and makes one happy!

Location isn’t the easiest. Booked taxis to go anywhere. Breakfast can get over crowded in the morning, so go early!

Excellent hotel with great location and amazing amenities.

It was very clean and spacious. The view from rooms on a high floor are amazing! The free pool is great but their is a another outside pool that however requires a extra fee.

I wish the outside pool would be included for guests. Also there were some kind of renovation work going on which caused some noise from 9am.

If you want a VERY comfortable stay in Seoul then The Ambassador is the place

The hotel is tucked away in a slightly more quiet part of Seoul so you escape a lot of the busy traffic. The room was perfect for us especially the big TV and fully equipped bathroom - we were really impressed by this. Chungmuro metro station is just a short walk around the corner to access the rest of the city. The standout at this hotel is the staff who were very polite, thoughtful and happy to help. Amazing housekeeping staff too who made sure we had complimentary bottles of water on the exceptional hot days we experienced. I must say that the lobby bar was one of the best I've encountered in terms of drink selection and ambiance, it was a highlight of the evening when we went there.

This is a VERY minor critique and I do understand the reasonings but I think having the requirement of wearing a swimming cap to use the pool facilities is a bit inconvenient as most people don't own one/pack one when they travel. But as I say, this is such a minor issue.

Good value, high class experience.

The interior design is new, stylish and grand. Staff are friendly and helpful with everything.

It's very hard to find a taxi (even when using a taxi app) nearby. The washroom is rather small. There's no bell boy service.

Great stay!

Beautiful hotel, high tech, great little bar down stairs with friendly service, gym and Pilates rooms have any piece of equipment that you would need and the rooms were really comfortable and gorgeous.

A little too far away from the action of the streets, as a tourist you’d hope to be a little closer or at least in walking distance to the main streets. But taxis are pretty cheap so it’s not so bad.

Very average and expensive stay for 5star hotel.

it was nice and close to restaurants etc

It has loads of hidden traps like not being able to use the outdoor pool without paying etc (was also poorly marketed by Booking.com). attention to detail from staff lacking for 5star hotel. sent me to wrong PCR testing centre ended up walking 30mins to the correct one.

expected way more, average performance.

Our stay at the hotel was merely okay. Was expecting way much more. We stayed there for three nights. Breakfast at Kings is highly recommended, incredibly diverse and very very tasty. I would revisit this to have breakfast there. We had gotten this cheaper the day we arrived. Yoga and fitness room and indoor pool are great. The room is nice and big with lots of storage and especially the bathroom is amazing.

Room service was just bad, only cleaned when we asked for it. We were not told when the room would be cleaned in general. On the first day, no one came all day until we asked room service late in the afternoon. After that it was cleaned. The cups were not clean, which was absolutely not okay. In general, the hotel was very cool due to the air conditioning. Something was missing all the time. So on the second day, we asked again for a room cleaning and then we didn’t received a new doormat, new bathrobes as well as a towel. and on the third day we also didn’t get new bathrobes. That is simply annoying, because I expect a certain comfort. For me, it is a matter of principle that the hotel performs a certain perfomance. After all, it is a 5 star hotel. I had explicitly asked for a quiet room, because we are unfortunately sleep-related noise sensitive. I wrote them that directly at the beginning of my booking. Therefore, I had asked for a room on the higher floor, instead we had a room to the front of the hotel, where you can hear the main traffic / road traffic strongly. The first night I could only sleep 3 hours. Compared to my stay at Shilla hotel (also a 5 star hotel) I can only say that I liked my stay there much much more. Except for the beautiful room at the Ambassador it’s performance doesn’t come close to a 5 star hotel. Equivalent or more expensive 5 star hotels are definitely better in their performance and customer orientation. Even our stay at a 4 star hotel was more luxurious than this. For the fact that they always charge for almost everything, the performance is in summary rather less impressive. And the worst thing: We had a taxi called by the hotel. This cab driver just left us far away from our actual address, was super unfriendly. We then had to walk uphill for another 15 minutes, with several suitcases! I am so angry! The hotel can give this cab driver the worst rating! Absolutely rude.

Nice but will not go back again

The staff, in general, are very nice and helpful when you need them. The room is very clean.

The location is a little off the convieniencies. The breakfast provided by the hotel is way more expensive compared to the food value in Seoul. The food facilities are open until 10 PM, but you will not get any food before 9 PM.
